This is the auspicious character “Fortune”. It certainly brings great fortune and prosperity to the family of the lucky collector.

Mr Chui uses thick, firm strokes to exude confidence and stability. He also sprinkles grey speckles on the entire artwork to enhance its joyfulness. Notice also the use of an ancient Chinese font for Mr Chui’s signature seal in this artwork.

These Chinese calligraphy on red paper are not only popular during Chinese New Year but throughout the year.

This art piece has undergone the mounting (托底) process with an added rice paper backing.
