In this poem, Ming poet Yang Shen (杨慎) reflected upon the ravages of lives and time during the Three Kingdoms (三国) warring period of history. The descriptive elements included the rolling waters of the Yangtze River, the heroes of war, mountains, sun, old fisherman, moon and a jug of wine.
It is both a challenge and joy to identify all the 60 characters of Mr Lim’s cursive calligraphy. This calligraphy piece grows on you and is surely a talking point among friends and relatives. This painting is already framed (frame outer size is 142 x 142 cm).
